This picture was taken on the 40th day of Mahsa (Jina) Amini’s death. Amini, a Kurdish woman who was arrested for supposedly not wearing her hijab correctly was killed on 16 September in Iran by the Islamic republic's morality police. Massive protests immediately ensued and are still ongoing today. This picture symbolizes the brave and ongoing resistance of Iranian women and peoples and their fight for a free Iran.
