Banque

’Banque’ is a montage of historical images of Belgian banking house and media excerpts of the Fortis-crisis that sweept across Belgium and the Netherlands in 2008 and 2009. Angel Vergara sketches historical and contemporary cross-references between the artistic and financial worlds in Belgium. By letting his brush move across the cinematic images, the artist is also suggesting that recorded reality embodies the pallet with which he is ’painting’.
