Meschak, Laone et Michel

Meschak Gaba responds negatively when asked whether art, freedom and artists are synonyms, because one does not have to be an artist in order to be free. He confirms that he is an artist, "because I am no artist", followed by a laugh. Laone answers, "yes and no". Artists are free to say and abstain from what they want. However they do suffer the consequences, because their work can be ignored, which amounts to censorship. Therefore whether or not it still pays off to aspire to artistic freedom should be questioned. Michel François responds with a balanced yes. When asked whether artists are free, he replies that they try to put their freedom into practice.
