During the second half of the eighthies Pacquée created her ’Madame’- works, in which she takes on the character of a lonely middle-aged lady. In this case the camera records Madame’s presence at a dog show. Madame walks around the hall where the event’s taking place. She looks at pictures of different breeds of dogs and takes some brochures. Because of her loneliness, Madame reaches out to others. She pets some dogs and talks to their owners. Madame tries to blend in with the crowd, sometimes by mimicking their actions. By recording a lot of details the artist tries to capture the moment.
