Le Vieux Crapaud is a short video by Hänzel & Gretzel that combines a stop-motion portrait of a girl that follows the rhythm of an electronic choir, footages of nun clapping her hands and a painting of the Christ where the head is alternatively changed with the head of a toad. In this way, the video links the figure of the Christ, namely his symbolic value of the catholic socio-cultural heritage and influence, with the referential French-speaking expression the old toad.
