Suarez

After Franco’s death, Juan Carlos took the oath as king of Spain. He replaced the incumbent prime minister Carlos Arias with Adolfo Suárez, who would restore the civil liberties, and allow socialist and communist parties again. Parliamentary elections followed in 1977. With his brush, Vergara traces the cinematic images, while he and the images are behind a glass screen. Sometimes the brush moves across the glass, leaving paint sweeps behind. Vergara is suggesting that he collects his paint from the cinematic images, to eventually leave it on the glass.
