Vergara films this piece from the Book Tower in Ghent, each time in a different wind direction. While the camera covers the sky and parts of Ghent, Vergara uses a brush. On the edge of the Book Tower’s terrace lies a catalogue from Chambres d’Amis, an exhibition held in Ghent in 1986 and featuring several art interventions set up in domestic interiors in Ghent. By moving his brush occasionally towards the book when it appears onscreen, Vergara suggests that the art in the book embodies the pallet with which he himself is ’painting’ Ghent more than ten years later.
