Two bodies are standing against a wall, hidden behind a white canvas. While they are embracing and kissing each other, they are drawing with charcoal on the wall. A white canvas often turns up in Vergara’s work, but instead of one, it now hides two bodies. The way in which his alter ego Straatman positions himself in the world underneath a similar white canvas, whilst simultaneously wanting to distance himself from it, receives here an extra intimate dimension.
