Cornelis prefers to make use of the medium of television to show a work by the Amsterdam artist Pieter Engels in its conceptual form, in stead of supplying a typical purely sterile and pedantic framework. Similar to his other work from the 1960s and 1970s, Engels focuses on tiny, everyday things, creating confusion by questioning expectations and preconditions. On screen a close-up pops up of a pair of high-sole and low-heel shoes. Slowly Engels walks backwards until he disappears out of sight. Part of the BRT (Belgian radio and television broadcast network) television series ’Openbaar Kunstbezit’ (Public Art Heritage).
