The public witnesses a Flemish corrida to the strains of a rousing Spanish tune. In the arena we recognize a meadow (or is it the other way round?). The bull is a tree and the tree is a bull... But the torero dedicates himself with dignity to the bloody fight between culture and nature. It remains unclear who defeats who.

As a statement, Jan Vroman shows us “a film by someone else”. This clincher of The Chair next to Me, demonstrates that the universe that is present in all films is also present in a “film by someone else”.
