Arnout Hauben started his carreer as a director and journalist for production center Woestijnvis, where he helped create television shows such as Het Geslacht De Pauw, Meneer Doktoor and Man Bijt Hond. It was through this last show that Hauben gained national fame, when he filmed and documented his hiking tour to Santiago de Compostela.

In 2011 Hauben created his own production center De chinezen, together with Mikhael Cops and Elke Neuville. His most recent television shows include Ten Oorlog, in which he follows the front line of the first World War straight through Europe, and Manneken Pis, in which he interviewed tourists in Brussels about their home.
