LA MAZDA JAUNE ET SA SAINTETÉ

A conceptual experiment on what it means to start a film with a black image, develops into a subtle personal essay about the filmmaker. This short film tells the story of a Belgian missionary who fell in love with a Rwandan woman, metamorphosing little by little into a personal reflection by their daughter. The filmmaker questions family memory and colonial history, using archival images in a rhythmic and precise montage.
