CAUGHT IN THE ACT

Caught in the Act deconstructs its predecessor Catch-as-catch-can. Where Catch-as-catch-can results from two separate recordings merged together in a single-channel video installation (a shot where the two actors move with respect to the camera and one where the camera moves with respect to the background), the 'background shot' in Caught in the Act is now screened as a single entity that accompanies Catch-as-catch-can on an adjoining wall at an angle of 90°. By doing so, the intrigue of the complex nature of image-construction in Catch-as-catch-can is partly revealed to the public.
