DEUTSCHLAND IM HERBST

Germany, October 1977: the murder of Schleyer, Mogadishu, the mysterious death of Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin and Jan-Carl Raspe. A country in chaos, in a spiral of violence, fear and hysteria. Deutschland im Herbst (Germany in Autumn) is composed of contributions from different German filmmakers - including Alexander Kluge, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Edgar Reitz and Volker Schlöndorff - that comment on these events on their individual and very personal way. Competing at 28th Berlin International Film Festival, it won a Special Recognition award. A film collage capturing the emotions of these events. A radical, violent and aggressive film, just as Germany during those weeks.
