NIGHT TIME

The artist’s animation piece ‘Night Time (extended)’ is based on the innumerable watercolors he has produced in recent years. The film takes the viewer on a silent, enigmatic journey through fictitious, often nocturnal settings. Sometimes those mysterious places are populated by anonymous figures. The images are timeless, while at the same time the artist smuggles in plenty of contemporary cultural and subcultural references. Many of the images have a cinematic feel, thanks to so-called ‘establishing shots’, grand panoramic views that show the wider context, and ‘close-ups’ of bodies and props.
