Vincent Meessen is of American-belgian origin, presently living and working in Brussels. By means of video, he investigates the construction of artificial realities, at the very edge of fiction. The idea of “disputed space” –territory in its political dimension- is put to question starting from experiences of global citizenship at the age of post-global civilisation. His work has been shown at international art centres such as STUK (Leuven), Netwerk (Aalst), and Muhka_Media (Antwerp) and during the Oberhausen International Festival where he was awarded the Grand Prix of the Jury for N12°13.062’/W001°32.619’ Extended.
