EDUARD GABIA

Bucharest based dancer and choreographer Eduard Gabia is a facilitator and a contextualiser. His performances, from Bonus to Fine tuning between me and the universe in a black box, were presented a.o. at DTW New York, Tanzquartier Wien, Tanz im August Berlin, Kaaitheater Brussels, Festival d’Avignon. In 2009, he co-creates Cooperativa Performativa, a collective working utopia proposing an anarchic open source model for the performative context. He was awarded the Prix Jardin d’Europe with Maria Baroncea and Dragana Bulut (2010) and created the format Miercurea lejera (Easy Wednesday) with Maria Baroncea. He realized two short movies and worked with film directors Carmine Amoroso (Cover boy, main role) and Giuliano Montaldo (L’industriale). As a drummer he appears in Karpov not Kasparov and the band Jazzadezz and realizes Growing sound TII+, a sound exhibition with Justin Baroncea (2011).
